KUALA LUMPUR: The World Road Association ‘PIARC’ has organised “PIARC International Seminar On Towards Advanced Technology & Material In Bridge Engineering “ at Sunway Putra Hotel. The opening ceremony was officiated by the Works Minister, YB Tuan Baru Bian and accompanied by him was Ybhg. Dato 'Dr. Syed Omar Sharifuddin Syed Ikhsan, Secretary General, Ministry of Works Malaysia.
The main objective of this seminar is to provide a platform for knowledge sharing, experience and technological transfer involving bridge engineering experts from abroad, industry, academia and government agencies on the design, construction, maintenance and maintenance of bridges with the use of high technology and sustainability. The Minister also spent time visiting the exhibition space and presented a certificate of appreciation to 25 participating exhibitors.
Ir. Dr. Voo Yen Lei, has been invited as one of the speaker during the seminar. He presented about “Malaysia as World Leader in Promotes Sustainable Bridge Technology”. He shared his knowledge about the sustainability and environment friendly development using UHPFRC. The advantages of UHPFRC is high performance concrete, low carbon footprint, affordable and superior durability.
Ultra High Performance Fibre-Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC) are materials with a cement matrix, and a characteristic compressive strength between 150 MPa and 250 MPa. They contain steel fibres, in order to achieve ductile behaviour in tension and overcome if possible the use of passive reinforcement.
“Without a doubt, modernization and the new technologies of the bridge infrastructure industry form the way for us to move forward. This PIARC seminar today marks an important platform, not just for the bridge industry in Malaysia, but also abroad, as we come together to share our expertise and drive technology and innovation in construction” said the Minister of Works.
The last day of the exhibition , Deputy Minister of Works, YB Tuan Haji Mohd Anuar Mohd Tahir attended the closing ceremony by giving a speech and also visiting the exhibition .
IPOH, 14 DECEMBER 2018: The department from Design Management and also Specialist Services & Technical Cooperation from Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM) were attend thetechnical visit in our factory and also site visit at Manong Bridge, Perak. The purpose of this visit is to show them the products in our factory and also doing inspection . They were given a short presentation on Dura products by Prof Ir. Dr. Voo Yen Lei about Ultra-High-Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete to educate about UHFPRC and to create an understanding on it’s applications as to how it can be more sustainable compared to current technology and also introduction of Dura company. Following that, the guests and other participants were impressed by the possibility and the capability of the product during demonstration of casting and also testing of cube compressive strength test.
IPOH: Faculty of Civil Engineering from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) students and their lecturer, Prof. Dr. Azmi Ibrahim had recently made an educational visit to our Dura Technology factory in Chemor on 29th November.
The purpose of the visit was to provide an opportunity for students to observe the products and materials used and the technologies used for the process of precast beams to shows that how it can be more sustainable and durable. Before the students going to the factory, introduction about Dura will presented by one of our engineer, Dr. Milad Hafezolghorani Esfahani.

The conference that was held at Crown Ballroom, Crown Plaza, China aims to covers challenges on the production control, innovative ways to improve concrete construction productivity as well as green concrete for sustainable construction.
