THE LAUNCHING CEREMONY OF SENIOR OFFICERS MEETING OF PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
Recently, The Launching Ceremony of Senior Officers Meeting of Public Works Department was held in Ipoh, Perak on 7th June and it was officiated by Y.B Dato' Shaziman Abu Mansor, Minister of 1st February 2010 marks the day of the workshop held for engineers and officers from the Public Works Department Perak Branch (JKR Perak).
WORKSHOP ON ULTRA-HIGH PERFORMANCE 'DUCTILE' CONCRETE FOR JKR PERAK DARUL RIDZUAN (1ST Feb 2010)
1st February 2010 marks the day of the workshop held for engineers and officers from the Public Works Department Perak Branch (JKR Perak). A total of 150 JKR participants from all over the districts in Perak and a total of 15 engineers came to Dura Technology S/B in Chemor for a workshop organized together with the JKR of Perak with the aim to introduce the technology of Ultra-High Performance ‘ductile’ Concrete to their practicing engineers.
SIMPLE CONTRIBUTION OF TECHNOLOGY TO THE BUSY STREET
Jalan Tun Abdul Razak is one of the busiest streets in Ipoh, Perak. It caters to the commuters from Silibin, Buntong and Jelapang area to the town and vice versa. Having a premier school and the main town bus station at the end of the road and the cargo station at another while a railway track to the main Ipoh railway station below the Jalan Tun Abdul Razak Bridge, it is not unusual that the transports that travels on the road are heavy with loadings that can reach up to 60 tones.

Launching of Malaysia's First UHP & World's Longest Single Span UHPdC Bridge Girder
3rd December 2010 marks the history calendar of engineering in Malaysia as it is the date of the launching of Malaysia’s first ever Ultra-High Performance ‘ductile’ Concrete (UHPdC) bridge girder. This record breaking 50 m single span motorway bridge girder produced and designed by Dura Technology S/B and Perunding Faisal, Abraham dan Augustin S/B holds the marvel of engineering. To date, this bridge girder is considered as the world longest single-span prestressed UHPdC bridge girder for motorway application. The previous record was at 48 m in Japan.

UPM being one of the universities in Malaysia that have a leading engineering faculty jointly organized a study trip to the one and only Ultra-High Performance ‘ductile’ Concrete (UHPdC) manufacturing plant in Malaysia.

AIR BASES AND MARITIME OF JKR STEPS INTO DURA®
25th October 2010, The Department of Air Bases and Maritime from The Ministry of Work Malaysia steps foot in Dura Technology Sdn. Bhd. Ipoh. The 40 participants that consists of engineers and technical assistants were brought to a product and material demonstration in the plant. They arrived in Ipoh late morning and then were treated to a sumptuous buffet lunch before heading to the plant in Chemor.

Official Opening of Malaysia’s First & World’s Longest UHPdC Motorway Bridge (21st May 2011)
21st May 2011 marks a historical day for Dura Technology Sdn. Bhd. and Negeri Sembilan because it was the grand opening of the Kg. Linsum Motorway Bridge and the presentation of certificate by Malaysia Book of Record (MBOR) as a recognition that this is indeed Malaysia First Longest Ultra-High Performance ‘ductile’ Concrete. The guest of honor was the Menteri Besar of Neger Sembilan, YAB Datuk Seri Hj. Utama Mohamad Hj. Hassan. Also present, Datuk Ir. Dr. Roslan Md Taha, the director of Jabatan Kerja Raya Negeri Sembilan. There were around 500 guests that include the enthusiast and grateful villagers, JKR and state officers.

Once again, Dr. Voo Yen Lei was invited to conduct a presentation to the Jabatan Kerja Raya Penang. There were around 30 participants and most of them are engineers and senior officers. Penang is a state that really supports the idea of green and having a sustainable development.

East-Coast Expressway Team Visits Dura Technology Sdn. Bhd. (11th May 2011)
On 11th May 2011, another workshop was held in the in Dura Technology Sdn. Bhd. for the Jabatan Kerja Raya officers which are also a special team for the East-Coast Expressway Project Phase 2. Approximately 50 JKR officers from the state office attended this workshop. It was the first time Ultra-High Performance ‘ductile’ Concrete was introduced to most of the attendees, and even at the first introduction of this material and its properties, they were surprised how this material can perform over the conventional concrete and in fact can be as ductile as steel.

Workshop for Jabatan Kerja Raya Cawangan Kejuruteraan Senggara (09th May 2011)
On 9th May 2011, a bus of JKR officers from Cawangan Kejuruteraan Senggara came from Kuala Lumpur to Dura Technology Sdn. Bhd. for a workshop. Earlier on in June 2010, the head of this Cawangan had attended the workshop conducted also in Dura Technology Sdn. Bhd. during the Annual Meeting of the Senior Officer Jabatan Kerja Raya in Ipoh. She showed great interest in this concrete technology and arranged that her subordinates to come for a workshop to be introduced and enhanced their knowledge in this UHPdC. They reach Ipoh in time for lunch and moved to Dura Technology Sdn. Bhd. in Chemor, Perak.

Workshop for Jabatan Kerja Raya Negeri Kelantan Darul Naim (06 May 2011)
Following the presentation for JKR Kelantan in Kota Bharu on 7th April 2011, Dura Technology Sdn. Bhd. has arranged the second workshop for this state’s JKR to our plant in Chemor, Perak. In respond to their request for a factory visit. On 6th May 2011, the JKR Kelantan sent a bus of JKR engineers to Chemor, Perak for the Workshop on Sustainable Construction – Ultra-High Performance ‘ductile’ Concrete. There were 40 participants that reach our plant premise in the morning and they were presented with an hour of presentation about UHPdC.

Visiting Lecture by Dr. Voo to University Technology Petronas (UTP) (25th April 2011)
In our continuous effort in educating the people of the industries in Malaysia, lectures, talks and seminars are being conducted aggressively to provoke the interest of engineers especially about Ultra-High Performance ‘ductile’ Concrete (UHPdC). Recently, the University Technology Petronas (UTP) invited Dr. Voo to conduct a lecture on 25th April 2011 to its students from the civil engineering faculty.

Jabatan Kerja Raya Kelantan, Malaysia Welcomes Dura Technology Sdn. Bhd. (07th April 2011)
Dr. Voo Yen Lei was invited by the Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Kelantan to present a presentation on the products of Ultra-High Performance ‘ductile’ Concrete. This presentation took place in New Pacific Hotel on the 7th of May 2011 in Kota Bharu, Kelantan Darul Naim. Kelantan lays on the north-east of peninsular Malaysia with idyllic beach and lush paddy fields. The title of this presentation was “Sustainable Construction – Ultra-High Performance ‘ductile’ Concrete.

Product Presentation by Dura Technology Sdn. Bhd. in JKR Pahang (05th  April 2011)
For the first time on 5th April 2011, Dura Technology Sdn. Bhd. was in Pahang Darul Makmur to give a product presentation on Ultra-High Performance ‘ductile’ Concrete.  The Jabatan Kerja Raya Negeri Pahang welcomes Dr. Voo to the venue of the workshop in Komplek Tun Razak, Bandar Indera Mahkota.
